Drug Information Database - Background

The new Drug Information Database (DID™) is an extension of the very successful United Kingdom (UK) Sport Drug Information Database (DID)™ that was launched in the UK in January 2002. Recognizing the benefits of a one-stop shop for information on the athletes and athlete support personnel, the CCES partnered with UK Sport and its developer Elite Sport Ltd to make the UK Sport DID available to the Canadian sport community.

This new service is an international portal that gives athletes and their support personnel access to country-specific information on the ethical use of drugs in sport. Visitors to the site can enquire anonymously about the WADA Prohibited List status of substances, including prescription drugs, and over-the-counter medications, that can be purchased in the United Kingdom and in Canada. The website also contains other practical anti-doping resources.
